Gzowski College Cabinet
Once you arrive at Trent your College will be your first and most closely knit community. Often when you meet people on campus or at events one of the first questions new friends ask is “What College are you?” Each College has a lot to be proud of, its own personality, and is an important part of the larger Trent community. Each College also has what we call a “College Cabinet”. This is your College-based student Government whose first concern is always close to home.
What We Do
As a team your cabinet works in two ways: to represent students and fight for our rights across the College and University structure and also to bring awesome events to our community that will suit not only some, but all of our students (off-residence as well as on-residence).
Each Cabinet position comes with its own title and unique focus. This allows individuals to run for positions that are most interesting to them or which work in areas they are passionate about. There are always opportunities to participate in areas other than the focus of your own position through conversations and debates at cabinet meetings as well as volunteering for various committees or events.
We work, as a whole, to make sure all our students feel at home and welcomed when they walk through our doors. From student space to free food to pub-crawls, when asked “but what do you do?” the answer is we work for you.
Get Involved!
Just like the Trent Community is incomplete without its Colleges, our College cabinet is incomplete without YOU! Here at Gzowski this year we have lots of room in our hearts waiting for our Fall election to make us whole again. You’ll be able to pick up nomination forms during ISW week, the first step in your cabinet adventure.
Can’t wait to meet you!
